We acknowledge the deep relationship, connection and responsibility to land, sea, sky and Country as an integral element of First Nations identity and culture.
As the Senior Advisor, you will play an integral role within the First Nations Engagement Team to support the implementation of RoadTek's small, medium and Indigenous business procurement and supplier participation program. The position focuses on driving the engagement, development, and performance of small, medium, family, and First Nations businesses within the infrastructure supply chain, enabling greater access to Queensland's transport infrastructure pipeline. Working across project teams, you will support the implementation of initiatives that improve subcontractor participation, strengthen supplier readiness, and address delivery barriers that limit equitable access to project opportunities.
The role supports the delivery of RoadTek's business objectives by providing procurement engagement advice, analysing participation data, and supporting the integration of inclusive procurement practices into project planning and delivery.
Some of your responsibilities will include:
• Lead the design, implementation, and review of RoadTek's subcontractor and supplier engagement frameworks.
• Provide specialist advice to project and procurement teams on culturally safe and inclusive subcontractor sourcing strategies, tender readiness, and supplier participation planning.
• Manage and maintain supplier participation data, performance metrics and reporting dashboards.
• Coordinate business capability and readiness programs that build the commercial and technical capacity of First Nations and small to medium business suppliers.
• Support the development of procurement management tools, templates and supplier relationship frameworks.
• Represent RoadTek at regional and industry forums to promote First Nations and small business procurement inclusion, build partnerships, and advocate for supply chain opportunities for underrepresented businesses.
• Provide mentoring and guidance to other team members and regional contacts involved in subcontractor and supplier engagement.
Mandatory qualifications and conditions:
• Due to this role having access to sensitive data, a criminal history check will be undertaken prior to appointment to the role.
• It is a genuine occupational requirement that this position be filled by an Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander person as set out in section 25 of the Anti- Discrimination Act 1991. One of the referees must be an Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander person who can attest to the applicant's background, knowledge, skills and experience as they relate to the cultural capabilities.
Desirable qualifications and experience:
• Procurement or business qualifications and/or equivalent experience.
• Experience in procurement or supplier engagement functions within infrastructure projects.
To thrive in the role, you will:
• Demonstrate sound understanding of procurement and contract management principles.
• Build and sustain respectful relationships with diverse stakeholders, including First Nations businesses, regional suppliers, Traditional Owners, and internal delivery teams.
• Demonstrate confidence and sound judgement when making decisions.
• Communicate with influence by adapting messages to different audiences and ensuring engagement is culturally safe, transparent, and solution focused.
