Manager

You will work independently and collaboratively as part of the Strategy and Transformation team and with Digital Portfolio & Investment Committee (DPIC) to govern the delivery of a large and diverse program of digital, data and ICT projects.
You will ensure the Portfolio Management Office (PMO) provides valuable services to program and project managers across the organisation, by utilising demand and resource management contemporary industry frameworks. Your best practice approaches ensure that business transformation outcomes are achieved cost-effectively and in alignment with agency strategy.

Your key responsibilities:
- Lead and manage the Information Technology Services (ITS) PMO in the provision of guidance, resources and assurance services for all digital related projects and programs across DoJ and related statutory bodies.
- Ensure DoJ has modern frameworks, processes and procedures it requires to effectively manage its responsibilities and obtains value and benefits from its investment.
- Work with business areas in initiating proposed initiatives and manage the portfolio delivery planning - ensuring governance committees are fully briefed on proposed investment and priorities.
- Maintain high-level knowledge of DoJ's business strategies and plans to inform DoJ leadership's consideration of investment potential of digital projects and programs.
Technical skills, abilities and cultural capability:
- Act as a key advisor and critical friend to DoJ's corporate governance committees, providing strategic verbal and written advice to enable key investment decisions to be made in a timely manner.
- Communicate with influence when delivering presentations to program and project boards, providing strategic and technical input into business cases to inform investment decisions that optimise and transform digital, data and ICT services valued by DoJ customers.
- Coordinate and prepare comprehensive and high-quality briefing papers, reports and other documentation relating to Queensland government requirements such as the initiation of new projects, project health checks, gateway reviews and ICT profile reporting.
- Expertise in use of project, program and portfolio methodologies and assurance frameworks for project portfolio management.
- Oversee the scheduling, staffing and quality of internal delivery assurance services.
- Perform other essential duties and tasks specific to the position as required.
