QBuild is a commercialised business unit of the Queensland Government.  It has been Queensland Government's builder for over 160 years, playing an important role in communities across the state by building and maintaining government-owned assets such as schools, social housing, police stations and correctional and health facilities.

About the role:

You will play a pivotal role in supporting QBuild's ambition to strengthen Queensland's building and construction industry by providing exceptional procurement process support. The SEQ Procurement Contract Management Team (CMT) is responsible for creating and managing long term contracts such as Standing Offer Arrangements. Regular tasks/duties include Supplier Engagement and Management and Contract Management, including Performance Management activities and annual contractor meetings. Other team tasks include providing support, including training sessions and document management, to internal stakeholders and presenting Industry Briefing Sessions to external contractors.

Duties and skills involved:

  • Sourcing and correlating a range of feedback from both internal and external stakeholders, comparing resources to other government agencies and industry standards and producing a range of procurement documentation.
  • Develop, implement and maintain procurement documentation and systems in accordance with QBuild's Quality Certification ISO 9001.
  • Providing guidance and assistance to regional staff in Procurement, purchasing and the associated policies.
  • Maintaining awareness of industry procurement and striving to continuously improve the procurement function within the region.
  • Developing and delivering procurement training programs, ongoing skills frameworks, training materials and coordinating the presentation of training sessions.
  • Developing, implementing and monitoring procurement instructions, procedures, guidelines and standard forms while maintaining document control (in conjunction with Quality Assurance).
  • Providing efficient and high standards of customer service to both internal and external stakeholders including coordinating responses, ensuring a high-quality service.
  • Knowledge of legislation and/or policies directly related to procurement in QLD Government and the Building Construction Maintenance industry.
  • Demonstrated ability and advanced knowledge of the Microsoft suite in particular word, excel, SharePoint and Adobe PDF to automate forms to streamline processes.
  • Knowledge of the QPulse system to manage document control.
  • Interpersonal skills including negotiation, and dispute resolution.

Preferred skills and experience:

  • Procurement Certification Levels 1 or 2.
  • Excel skills.
