On 1 July 2025, the QAS transitioned to a Statutory Body, guided by our values and focused on developing fit-for-purpose governance and corporate arrangements that support our vision of Inspiring Extraordinary Sporting Success.

Our ambitious high-performance strategy for the 2032 Games is to create more medal-winning moments for Queensland athletes that inspire their state and nation. While our strategy guides our performance, our culture truly delivers it. Given our vision, our culture is vitally important to us.

The Senior Strength and Conditioning Coach role will be responsible for the design and implementation of world-class strength and conditioning programs aimed at maximising the physical performance of nationally categorised athletes within QAS High Performance Swimming program/s on the Gold Coast, while also leading and developing a team of Strength and Conditioning Coaches at the QAS.

Some of your responsibilities will include:
• Provide world-leading evidence-based strength and conditioning services to a QAS High Performance Swimming program, coaches and QAS categorised athletes in line with each athlete's Individual Athlete Performance Plan (IAPP) which is aligned with their What It Takes to Win (WITTW) framework.
• Deliver specific and relevant performance testing and tracking/monitoring for QAS categorised athletes, providing timely feedback to the coaches, athletes and Performance Support team members.
• Contribute to the development of IAPPs and assist in regularly reviewing the associated specific development priorities and performance metrics to measure progress.
• Work collaboratively as part of a multidisciplinary performance support team that creates a high-performance environment to provide an integrated program based on the level and needs for QAS supported Swimming athletes. This includes spending an appropriate amount of time in the daily training environment (DTE) and attending weekly Performance Support team meetings.
• Regularly liaise with key internal and external stakeholders, including but not limited to Swimming Australia to collaboratively identify current sport specific S&C trends to deliver high quality integrated outcomes.
• Lead and mentor S&C staff, support professional development, and contribute to applied research and knowledge sharing across the high-performance network.

The QAS is committed to ensuring the safety and wellbeing of all athletes, children and young people that are involved in QAS supported sport programs.

We are committed to an environment where athletes from any background are heard, treated fairly and free from abuse.
