The Role
As the Senior HR Officer, Cultural Capability you will support the Diversity Inclusion & Employee Experience team to support cultural capability and First Nations initiatives across the department
Key Accountabilities:
- Supporting the implementation of the Reframing Relationships with First Nations peoples — our plan for being and working together 23-26 to support inclusive and culturally safe workplaces and strengthen relationships with First Nations communities.
- Supporting the design and delivery of cultural capability initiatives.
- Preparation of correspondence and briefing notes for the department's executive team.
- Providing culturally- informed advice on departmental practices and protocols to support the development of a culturally capable workforce and enhance service delivery.
- Proactively building and maintaining positive relationships, including consultation, negotiation and communication with internal and external clients, networks, service providers and key stakeholders, including Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities and organisations.
- Collect, collate and analysis data to improve programs and services.
- Other duties as directed and required.
About You

The following would be highly regarded:
- Demonstrated knowledge of First Nations cultural practices and protocols
- Demonstrated experience working with diverse First Nations communities.
- Demonstrated knowledge of whole of government initiatives that promote cultural capability, cultural safety and reconciliation.
- Demonstrated experience with facilitation
- Flexible work location arrangements will be considered for this opportunity to facilitate an adaptive and agile workforce. The successful candidate may be able to work from a regional or Brisbane based location. Note: occasional travel away from the centre may be required.
