We are recruiting dedicated teachers to join our close-knit team at Coomera State Special School, supporting students from Prep to Year 12. Whether you are a graduate, early career teacher, or an experienced educator seeking meaningful work in special education, this is an opportunity to make a genuine difference every day.

Applicants must demonstrate:

  • Ability to plan and deliver inclusive, differentiated teaching and learning programs aligned to the Australian Curriculum, including adjusted and alternative pathways, with a focus on students engaging below foundation level
  • Experience developing and implementing Individual Curriculum Plans (ICPs) or personalised learning plans
  • Strong capacity to build positive relationships with students, colleagues, and families
  • Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team, including teachers, teacher aides, and specialist staff

Highly Desirable:

  • Experience teaching in a special school, special education unit, or inclusive education setting
  • Experience supporting students with disability, including intellectual disability, autism, and/or complex needs
  • Knowledge or experience using Augmentative and Alternative Communication (AAC) systems
  • Experience working alongside allied health professionals
  • Willingness to contribute to whole-school initiatives and improvement agendas
