This position is based in Brisbane CBD. While the role allows for flexibility in working from home, regular in-person attendance at the Brisbane office is a mandatory requirement.

About the role:

The Principal Governance Officer leads the delivery of major governance initiatives, including the Corporate Governance Framework, policy and delegation frameworks, business continuity planning, and corporate insurance renewals. Working closely with senior leaders and operational teams, the role strengthens organisational risk management, compliance, and resilience, while contributing to a coordinated and forward‑looking approach across the Governance, Risk, and Strategy Branch.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Strengthen and maintain core governance frameworks, policies, delegations, and performance improvement initiatives across the organisation.
  • Provide expert governance advice to senior leaders while ensuring policies, procedures, and compliance activities are effectively managed and reviewed.
  • Lead and support key organisational programs, including business continuity management and the annual insurance renewal process.
  • Prepare high‑level governance documentation and contribute to broader Governance, Risk and Compliance activities, including risk management and assurance.
