The role of the Program Coordinator is to develop, delivery and review of a range of individual and group programs to address criminogenic and support needs of young people in accordance with case plans, consistent with departmental policies, procedures, and relevant legislation, with regard to reducing over-representation of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander young people in the youth justice system.

Key responsibilities
As Program Coordinator, you will specifically:
• Demonstrate cultural capability and/or a commitment to developing cultural capability to ensure an inclusive culture that aligns with the Human Rights Act 2019 and supports departmental programs and community partnerships aimed at preserving cultural connections for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples
• Provide supervision to operational staff to ensure the delivery of high-quality service in accordance with relevant legislative provisions, statutory delegations, departmental policies, procedures, and contemporary best practice.
• Maintain knowledge of contemporary trends, practices, funding initiatives and service delivery options to ensure the delivery of best practice youth justice programs and services
• Liaise and collaborate with key stakeholders including relevant departmental staff to promote effective coordination, integration and delivery of high-quality programs and activities for young people on youth justice orders.
• Participate as a member of the youth justice service centre management team and contribute to strategic and operational planning, reviews, and key decision-making.
• Establish and maintain recording and reporting systems to ensure efficient and accountable management and delivery of youth justice programs.
• Provide ongoing recruitment, selection, professional development and culturally appropriate supervision and leadership to program staff
• Ensure regular audits of Workplace Health and Safety issues in relation to agencies. Ensure that safety equipment is available, and all equipment used in conjunction with the Community Service Order Program is safe to operate.
