You'll lead and inspire multi-disciplinary teams to deliver critical environmental management and regulatory services across Queensland. This role offers the opportunity to oversee diverse activities, including environmental assessments, compliance monitoring, customer service delivery, and the implementation of innovative business practices. You'll play a key role in driving operational excellence, fostering collaboration, and ensuring the delivery of high-quality outcomes that align with legislative and reform agendas. 

Your key responsibilities will include: 
•     Leading and mentoring teams to deliver environmental assessments, compliance activities, and customer service functions, including licensing, permitting, and environmental register management. 
•    Providing expert advice and making informed decisions on complex and sensitive environmental and regulatory matters. 
•    Driving continuous improvement by developing and implementing efficient systems, processes, and practices to enhance service delivery and support reform initiatives. 
•    Collaborating with stakeholders across government, industry, and the community to resolve complex issues, build partnerships, and achieve shared goals. 
•    Leading and mentoring teams to deliver environmental assessments, compliance activities, and customer service functions, including licensing, permitting, and environmental register management. 
•    Providing expert advice and making informed decisions on complex and sensitive environmental and regulatory matters.

•    Preparing high-quality advice, reports, and correspondence on significant environmental management issues for executive and ministerial audiences. 

About You 
We're looking for a dynamic leader with a proven track record in regulatory service delivery and environmental management. You'll bring a strategic mindset, strong
leadership skills, and ability to navigate complex challenges in a fast-paced environment. 

The position requires: 
• Proven experience to lead operational performance and planning in a regulatory service delivery environment with demonstrated experience in making and managing
risk based administrative and statutory decisions on complex and/or controversial matters. 
• Proven ability to motivate and engage staff for the operational delivery of environmental management services, programs and projects. 
• Understanding of contemporary environmental and regulatory management trends, drivers and approaches. 
• Strong analytical and problem-solving capability with proven ability to evaluate options and approaches in a rapidly changing context 
• Proven stakeholder management skills to pursue the resolution of issues by communicating with influence in a contested environment and lead negotiations with a clear understanding of the key issues. 
• resolving complex and contentious matters relating to environmental management and regulation.
