Property Officer

You will work as part of the administration team for the Caboolture Property Office, where you will be responsible for managing and maintaining control of exhibits and the property room. Your primary responsibility will be to oversee the Caboolture Exhibit and Property Room, while also providing advice and assistance to other stations within the Moreton North Patrol Group as required. Your role will involve the effective management and accurate recording of property exhibits, including but not limited to the handling of drugs, liquor, firearms, and other court exhibits

Your key accountabilities
The core capability requirements for this role are:
• Maintain control over drug, liquor and other court exhibits pending their disposal or destruction.
• Organise the disposal of drugs, liquor, impoundment vehicles, property and exhibits and the destruction of firearms where necessary in accordance with Queensland Police Service procedures.
• Maintain a catalogue of exhibits, drugs and lost and unclaimed property in accordance with Queensland Police Service requirements.
• Use computer systems relating to property management activities including entry, disposal and tracking of property and exhibits.
• Undertake regular audits of property holdings and monitor compliance with Queensland Police Service property management procedures and policies.
• Give evidence in court regarding continuity of possession of exhibits.
• Provide training and advice to police and staff members on the appropriate storage, recovery and disposal of property.
• Comply with workplace health and safety requirements, including the safe storage and disposal of weapons, drugs and forensic exhibits.
• Contribute to the development of local property management procedures to reflect Queensland Police Service policy and legislative requirements.
