We are seeking an experienced property/commercial lawyer to work as part of the TMR's Legal Services team.
Requirements of the role:
• Demonstrated ability to provide strategic, commercial and outcome focused legal advice.
• Proven experience in drafting various property and commercial agreements and other documents.
• Excellent communication skills to foster collaborative relationships with stakeholders.
Some of your responsibilities will include:
• Provide well researched, timely, practical, commercial and accurate legal advice under appropriate supervision to departmental staff at all levels of the organisation on a wide range of legal matters including: property, planning and environment, construction, contractual and commercial matters, procurement, disputes and administrative law issues.
• Negotiate and draft a wide range of legal documents including property documents, contracts, infrastructure agreements, deeds, memoranda of understanding and licences.
• Build and maintain collaborative working relationships with internal clients and external stakeholders.
• Prepare briefings and instructions to Crown Law and other external legal providers on matters of a complex legal nature.
• Comply with time costing, matter management and precedent database systems and processes and contribute to business improvements.
Mandatory qualifications and conditions:
• Due to this role having access to sensitive data, a criminal history check will be undertaken prior to appointment to the role.
• Holds a Degree in Law and has been admitted, or is eligible to be admitted, as a Solicitor or Barrister in the Supreme Court of Queensland.
