As the Principal Engineer (Civil), some of your responsibilities will include:
• Manage the operational aspects of project delivery to ensure the effective and efficient use of systems and processes involved with all phases of the project management model
• Maintain and apply all relevant standards, policies, guidelines and legislative requirements necessary to support responsible decisions and courses of action for the design and construction of road infrastructure projects
• Manage and co-ordinate contract performance including Routine Maintenance Performance Contract and construction and maintenance practices by ensuring that efficient procedures are implemented, and best practice is achieved
• Ensure all safety, risk, quality and environmental aspects of the project are identified and addressed to maintain effective operation and project delivery
• Provide support and advice on planning and design suitability and options, the use of materials, resources, components or systems within the project, and construction practices and problems to ensure project success, value for money and best practice are achieved
• Supervise and co-ordinate resource allocation with the expectation that you would encourage effective teamwork and foster a positive attitude toward the achievement of organisational objectives
• Identify and manage networks and alliances of all stakeholders and manage the expectations and issue of all parties including identifying possible political and high risk matters to ensure they are dealt with in a timely and professional manner
• Provide support with the District's Disruptive Event Management.
• Managing stakeholders' relationship including Local Government Agencies.
Mandatory qualifications and conditions
• Registration as a Registered Professional Engineer of Queensland (RPEQ) is mandatory for appointment to this role.
• A four-year, Washington Accord accredited, Bachelor of Engineering (Civil) or equivalence which is assessed/accepted by Engineers Australia against Washington Accord benchmarks.
• Current 'Class C' driver license
• Due to this role having access to sensitive data, a criminal history check will be undertaken prior to appointment to the role
