The purpose of the position is to provide high level advice on strategic direction, business planning, business performance measures, reporting and, operational issues impacting on service delivery. This position provides leadership and quality control in the delivery of corporate reporting, correspondence and governance, including budget and human resource management. The role supports both the Executive Director and Directors.
Travel to other locations may be required from time to time. This includes overnight stays.
Your role: The Business Manager, AO7 role in which you will:
Provide high level advice and analysis on strategic organisational change and emerging business services delivery issues including human resources, finance, as well as complex, sensitive and confidential submissions.
Provide high level support and advice on operational capability issues specific to the delivery of departmental and government business requirements that include effective budget and business planning, performance management and reporting, workforce planning and management, management audits and governance frameworks, systems, processes and activities within the business group.
Provide independent advice and support to senior management on a wide range of strategic and confidential issues, including the implementation of departmental and whole of government priorities and operational issues.
Develop and coordinate the preparation of regular management reporting frameworks in accordance with departmental and whole of government performance and capability reporting requirements.
Manage the implementation and monitoring of strategic and operational outcomes and oversee the development and implementation of business strategies, departmental and government governance requirements and cabinet and legislative requirements.
Liaise, coordinate and manage the implementation of business planning activities, projects and initiatives.
Liaise with key internal and external stakeholders and facilitate meetings, representing the Department and Executive Director where required. Prepare, coordinate, review and progress briefing notes, submissions, reports and correspondence.

Professional Capabilities
There are no mandatory qualifications required to undertake this position, however formal qualifications in business administration would be highly regarded.
Licenses
It is a mandatory requirement for the occupant of this position to hold an unrestricted manual driver's license or be prepared to obtain one.
