What you will do:
Are you ready to make a real difference in Queensland's biosecurity? As our Senior Engagement Officer, you'll play a key role in the National Fire Ant Eradication Program, protecting our environment, economy, and communities from this invasive pest. You'll lead engagement strategies, build strong relationships, and ensure stakeholders are informed and involved in this critical initiative.
You will know you're achieving success in the role when you:
Develop and implement effective community and stakeholder engagement strategies, including preparing, delivering, and evaluating engagement plans.
Coordinate and manage forums with community groups, industry bodies, organisations, and government agencies, including attending events outside standard office hours when required.
Identify and escalate complaints, reputational risks, and sensitive issues while providing expert advice to stakeholders and the program team.
Your work will directly contribute to the success of this vital program, helping to protect Queensland's future.
What you will bring (qualifications, registrations, experience)
We're looking for someone with the skills, experience, and passion to engage
diverse audiences and drive meaningful outcomes.
Mandatory requirements:
A current ‘C' class driver's licence.
Desirable qualifications/experience:
An IAP2 Engagement Certificate or other relevant certification/experience in stakeholder engagement is highly regarded.
You will also bring:
Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build and sustain relationships with diverse stakeholders.
The ability to work independently, using sound judgement to achieve program deliverables and manage stakeholder relationships effectively.
Leadership skills to guide and support team members, ensuring engagement objectives are met.
A proactive, adaptable approach to working in complex and dynamic environments.
A commitment to fostering inclusive and collaborative workplaces where everyone can thrive.
