The Right to Information, Privacy and Complaints Management (RTIPCM) unit is responsible for administering the department’s obligations under the Right to Information Act 2009 (RTI Act) and the Information Privacy Act 2009 (IP Act).

Key responsibilities will include:
• Decision-making on complex and sensitive matters and assist development, implementation and on-going support of policies, processes and systems.
• As a senior member of the team, foster a team-based environment by providing advice, including coaching and mentoring to staff.
• Prepare detailed correspondence, including decision notices, reports and advice.
• Delivery of training sessions and the development of resources in relation to Right to Information and accessing information.
• Engaging with key internal and external stakeholders and establishing strategic relationships with other state and local government agencies.
Requirements of the role:
• Demonstrated self-management skills, particularly the ability to work independently with limited supervision in a changing environment.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, while displaying a high level of emotional intelligence, including the ability to build and maintain effective relationships. within a team, management and stakeholders.
• Demonstrated high-level decision-making skills on complex and sensitive RTI matters (or transferable legislative decision-making skills).
• High level of experience interpreting and applying legislation and providing advice to internal and external stakeholders (stakeholders).
