Our First Nations pathway is designed to support, celebrate and empower First Nations graduates who are ready to make an impact with a rewarding career in Queensland Government.
Throughout the two-year program, you'll rotate across Queensland Government gaining hands-on-experience, tackling real-world challenges, and contributing to initiatives that shape the future of Queensland.
Positions are available for graduates from all degrees and disciplines in Brisbane, Cairns, Townsville, Rockhampton and Toowoomba.

About the program
As Queensland Government's flagship graduate program Future Leaders is designed to develop the next generation of leaders who will shape the future of our state.
Whether your passion lies in public policy development, corporate governance, project management, finance, human resources or strategic communications, the Future Leaders Graduate Program provides a pathway for you to explore and grow in your chosen field.
The two-year program offers three structured rotations where you will be immersed in diverse work across Queensland Government. You'll also receive comprehensive training and mentorship, peer support and a range of networking opportunities to support your growth and career progression.
What you could work on
Future Leaders is a multi-disciplinary program that can provide exposure to diverse areas such as:
• corporate governance, audit and risk;

Our recruitment process
Our First Nations Pathway recruitment process is designed to obtain a holistic understanding of who you are. You will be invited to share your story, meet with the Future Leaders team and participate in an assessment centre.
Are you eligible?
The First Nations Pathway for the Future Leaders Graduate Program is open to graduates from all degrees and disciplines who meet the following eligibility requirements:
• identify as an Aboriginal person and/or Torres Strait Islander person
• completion of a bachelor's degree (equivalent of a level seven qualification) or higher between 31 October 2024 and 31 January 2027
• be an Australian or New Zealand citizen, an Australian permanent resident or have a visa with unrestricted working rights under Australian immigration law.
All candidates will be required to complete employment screening and disclosure checks prior to appointment.
