This role is within the Private Protected Area Investment business unit in the Protected Area Strategy and Investment branch of Queensland Parks and Wildlife Service and Partnerships. The Private Protected Area Investment Program partners with landholders to establish protected areas (nature refuges and special wildlife reserves) on privately owned land that has significant and exceptional natural and cultural values.

The Senior Project Officer will contribute to a dynamic team that delivers an ongoing program of work to support the expansion and management of the private protected area system in Queensland through administrative and technical support. The role will liaise with internal and external program stakeholders and develop, maintain, and continuously improve administrative processes to ensure consistent high-quality standards. The will role also undertakes and manages projects to support the program, such as coordinating communications products, (e.g. biannual newsletters), developing and maintaining SharePoint systems, and other initiatives as required.
