As a Senior Accountant in Corporate Accounting and Operations, you will play a pivotal role in delivering high-quality financial accounting services that enhance Treasury's financial capability and governance. You will also contribute to Treasury's tax compliance responsibilities under an outsourced operating model and help drive innovation to improve business capability. In this role, you will:
• Provide professional and specialist advice to internal and external stakeholders on financial accounting, operations, reporting, and taxation matters.
• Ensure the timely and accurate production of financial statements and actively participate in the external audit financial statement program.
• Develop and maintain strong, constructive relationships with key stakeholders.
• Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives to enhance service delivery and decision-making processes.
• Deliver financial accounting services while fostering a skilled, motivated and productive work environment.
What experience you will bring:
To excel in this role, you will demonstrate:
• Outstanding judgement with high-level integrity, ethics, and probity.
• The ability to adapt to a changing environment with a strong achievement orientation.
• Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
• A comprehensive understanding of financial accounting to assist in the timely and accurate production of financial statements.
• Good knowledge of accounting standards, legislation, and policies applicable to Queensland Government departments.
• Strong accounting, reporting, and analytical skills, along with excellence in client service delivery.
Whilst there are no mandatory qualifications needed for this role, relevant qualifications will be highly regarded.
