Are you passionate about child protection and keeping QLD children safe? We would be delighted to hear from you. Currently there are positions within both the Child Protection Offender Registry (CPOR) and the Child Protection Disclosure Unit (CPDU). In the role of Registry Officer CPOR, you will support the operational functions of the Queensland Police Service by providing administrative and registry officer support to ensure the effective management of the Child Protection Offender Register. The role involves maintaining and managing child protection offender information in compliance with relevant legislation, policies, and procedures, and provide client services to a range of stakeholders involved in ensuring offender compliance with legislation. In the role of Registry Officer CPDU, you will support the operational functions of the Queensland Police Service by providing administrative and registry officer support to ensure the effective management of the Child Protection and Public Child Sex Offender Register (Daniel's Law). The role involves maintaining and managing child protection offender information in compliance with relevant legislation, policies, and procedures, as well as delivering client services to a range of stakeholders, including members of the community who apply for access to information under Daniel's Law.

Your key accountabilities

The core capability requirements for this role are:

  • Be an agile communicator, apply critical thinking and provide prompt client service via telephone, email, and intranet in line with Child Protection Offender Registry (CPOR) legislation, policy, and procedures.
  • Modify and maintain numerous systems and databases including the National Child Offender System (NCOS) to record and monitor reportable offenders and dangerous sex offenders.
  • Assess and analyse information reported by reportable offenders through the centralised reporting model and report breaches against the legislation.
  • Analyse and provide quality advice to district investigators and stakeholders on any information which may identify children at risk.
  • Generate work tasks on QPRIME to ensure reportable offenders are served appropriate correspondence regarding their obligations under legislation and commence investigations regarding breaches.
  • Liaise with Australian law enforcement agencies and Queensland Corrective Services to manage the transfer of files and exchange of intelligence.
  • Conduct audits to ensure compliance with legislation and Queensland Police Service procedures and contribute to the development and implementation of improved work practices

  • The successful applicant/s will be required to undergo psychometric assessment, prior to appointment.
