As a Senior Planner, you will contribute to projects within the Development Assurance Division, including:
• Assist with the assessment of Ministerial Infrastructure Designation proposals, State Facilitated Development applications and called in applications, along with the preparation of all necessary documentation for the Planning Minister's consideration and decision.
• Apply specialist development assessment knowledge and expertise to undertake liaison and negotiation on development applications (including P&E Court matters) and other development assessment related matters that are of strategic importance to the department.
• Assist with the assessment of Regional Interest Development Applications under the Regional Planning Interests Act 2014.
• Undertake research and analysis and interpret issues in relation to planning initiatives.
• Liaise, negotiate and develop effective networks with stakeholders to deliver planning outcomes.
• Provide detailed expert advice and support to senior management and to stakeholders.
• Initiate and prepare clear and well researched correspondence, briefings, instructions to lawyers, development conditions, reports and cabinet documentation.
• Interpret, apply and advise on relevant legislation, policies and procedures to customers.
• Participate in, and on occasions, lead multi-disciplinary projects and project teams.
• Represent the department, as appropriate, at industry/stakeholders events, Court mediations, meetings and working groups in an effective and professional manner.
