The Principal Advisor, Strategy and Governance is a vital role within an outcome focused team that drives exemplary strategic management, corporate governance, risk and audit management, and legal services to the QAS. The role of Principal Advisor is responsible for ensuring contemporary, governance and risk focused strategic management practices, and effective audit liaison across the QAS.

We are seeking applicants who, within the context of the role responsibilities, possess the following key attributes:
- Demonstrated high level conceptual, analytical and problem-solving skills, and the proven ability to successfully apply them to complex issues concerning strategic and enterprise governance, risk management, organisational policy development, and business performance and improvement.
- Demonstrated understanding and knowledge of contemporary, best practice methodologies in the areas of public sector governance, and how these are best deployed to contribute to organisation and portfolio wide business requirements.
- Demonstrated applied knowledge of the concepts, strategies and issues associated with public sector corporate management, and the demonstrated skills to provide high quality advice and solutions to a broad range of stakeholders.
- Demonstrated ability to work independently to drive the effective conduct of corporate assurance and business improvement programs and timely implementation of audit recommendations, particularly in a frontline service delivery context.
- Demonstrated high level ability to provide strategic corporate advisory services within an emergency services operational context.
- High level of skill in communicating, consulting and negotiating at organisational levels, and in cultivating effective and influential relationships with a wide range of stakeholders.
The following mandatory requirements, special conditions and/or other requirements apply to this role:
- Whilst not mandatory, possession of relevant tertiary, or postgraduate qualification/s will be highly regarded.
