We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Senior Ranger (Planning) to lead the implementation of the Values-Based Management Framework (VBMF) in the Coastal and Islands Region. In this role, you contribute to shaping the future of Queensland’s natural and cultural heritage by coordinating and delivering management planning initiatives. Your responsibilities will include conducting Key Values and Levels of Service assessments, developing management instruments, and creating thematic strategies for priority locations.

About you
We are seeking a motivated and skilled individual with exceptional communication and teamwork abilities to join our team. You will have the capacity to work collaboratively with a diverse range of internal stakeholders, including planning staff, technical support staff, and operational rangers, as well as external stakeholders such as First Nations groups. Your strong written and verbal communication skills will enable you to prepare high-quality management planning and strategy documents, draft correspondence (e.g., briefing notes), report on programs and
budgets, conduct consultations, facilitate training and workshops, and represent the department at stakeholder forums.
You will bring experience in project management, stakeholder engagement and coordination, research, and the use of data management systems. Your ability to draft content for various written formats and utilise mapping tools will be highly regarded. Knowledge and experience in protected area and State Forest management will be a significant advantage.
