QLeave is seeking a strategic and experienced leader to join its Executive Leadership Team as Director Communications and Engagement.

This role leads the organisation’s communication strategy and stakeholder engagement functions to strengthen reputation, enhance customer experience and support organisational objectives.

Reporting to the Executive Director, Customer and Frontline Services, you will provide strategic advice to senior leadership, oversee communication initiatives, and drive engagement with industry, government and community stakeholders.

QLeave administers portable long service leave schemes for workers in the building and construction, contract cleaning and community services industries and manages over $2 billion in funds.

About the Role

Reporting to the Executive Director, Customer and Frontline Services, you will lead the strategic direction of QLeave's communication and stakeholder engagement activities, ensuring the organisation builds trusted relationships and delivers clear, effective communication across its stakeholder network. In this role you will:

  • Lead the development and delivery of QLeave's communication and stakeholder engagement strategy
  • Use customer insights and behavioural data to inform strategic decision-making
  • Provide expert communication and media advice to senior executives and the Board
  • Strengthen stakeholder relationships across government, industry and the community
  • Lead proactive and reactive issues management and reputation strategies
  • Deliver high-quality reporting on engagement initiatives and strategic outcomes

The role leads the Manager, Stakeholder and Corporate Affairs and the Strategic Engagement Team Leader, providing leadership to a multidisciplinary communication and engagement team.

About You

You are an experienced leader with a proven record inspiring high-performing teams and driving continuous organisational improvement.

You will bring experience leading customer-centric communication and engagement strategies and have a strong ability to build trusted relationships across complex stakeholder environments.

Your expertise in strategic communication, issues management and reputation leadership, see you operate and advise with confidence in dynamic environments.

Importantly, you have the analytical capability to interpret customer insights and translate them into clear strategies that improve customer experience and deliver meaningful organisational outcomes.

Qualifications in communications, marketing, public relations or a related discipline would be highly regarded.
