The SES Stakeholder Engagement and Governance Unit supports the delivery of SES organisational priorities and objectives through the initiation and management of strategic engagement and corporate governance and assurance, The unit is also responsible for the development, maintenance and monitoring of corporate services ensuring SES state and regional capabilities are developed and maintained.

You will support the development and review of SES policy and procedure in line with the SES policy framework. Refer to the role description for more information.

Your key accountabilities

The core capability requirements for this role are:

• Assist with the development, implementation, review and improvement of policies, procedures and other documents to meet SES service delivery.
• Provide advice and support to stakeholders in relation to the SES policy framework to ensure that documentation is developed, maintained and meets quality assurance standards.
• Undertake research, analysis and identify opportunities to improve and further develop SES products and processes, including online content resources to ensure quality outcomes and meet service delivery.
• Liaise and maintain effective relationships with key internal and external stakeholders to ensure positive outcomes in the development, review and implementation of SES policy, procedures and supporting products.
• Assist in the preparation and review of reports, briefs, submissions and correspondence, in accordance with departmental requirements.
• Contribute to the development, implementation and maintenance of projects as required, including implementing project deliverables to ensure business outcomes for the department are met.
• Promote and support a teamwork approach, the achievement of outcomes and ensure the effective delivery of services in an efficient and timely manner.

Role Requirements

Technical/ Operational/ Educational experience

• Knowledge and understanding of reviewing, maintaining and/or improving organisational doctrine, policy (and process) management systems and frameworks.

Other

• Capacity to work on night and weekend to suit an SES volunteer environment.
• It is expected the incumbent will participate in an out-of-hours on-call roster during emergency operations. This may require work outside of normal hours (e.g. night shift), including weekends, working extended hours and may include travel to rural and remote communities, intrastate or interstate travel as necessary and/or deployment activities to other parts of the state.
