About the role
As an Assessment Officer you will analyse and assess building disputes and licensing applications in line with legislation and policy, making fair, well‑reasoned decisions that withstand scrutiny. The role relies on strong communication, accurate writing and sound decision‑making to guide homeowners and licensees through legislative requirements.
You will contribute to and support the operations of the Regional Service Centre, including providing a face‑to‑face service to customers at the front counter, and supporting your team in the delivery of high‑quality customer service. With a people‑focused approach, you will educate stakeholders on their rights, responsibilities and emerging industry issues, and build constructive relationships that support professionalism, compliance and safer construction practices.
This position is based in Townsville, and upon completion of training, the successful candidate will have the option to work from home for up to two days per week under an approved Flexible Work Arrangement.
