In the role of Principal Environmental Officer will provide high level leadership, coordination and specialist expertise to enable the Department to meet its environmental management and legislative commitments in relation to program development and delivery. The role will provide expertise to enable the delivery of the Queensland Transport Infrastructure Program (QTRIP), including current major infrastructure projects within the Region.
To help keep Queensland moving, we are actively recruiting for a Principal Environmental Officer with:
• Demonstrated experience providing specialist environmental and legislative compliance advice across transport planning, project design, construction and maintenance activities within a regional operations environment.
• Ability to build strong working relationships with Environmental Officers and external agencies to ensure consistent, effective management of environmental matters across regional projects.
• Experience leading in house environmental and impact assessments to meet departmental and legislative requirements.
• Ability to prepare clear, informed responses to ministerial and public enquiries relating to environmental initiatives led by other government agencies.
