We are seeking a motivated Civil Engineer to support the delivery of civil infrastructure and road construction projects.

• Apply and uphold all relevant standards, policies, guidelines, and legislative requirements for road infrastructure design and construction.
• Provide expert advice and support during the planning and design phases to ensure best practice and optimal project outcomes.
• Ensure compliance with engineering, project management, and quality assurance procedures to deliver consistent, high-quality results.
• Undertake tendering and estimating activities to support project development and delivery.
• Maintain effective communication and collaboration with internal and external stakeholders at all levels.
• Lead and coordinate the work of project teams, fostering a culture of teamwork, accountability, and continuous improvement.

In the role of Engineer (Civil) with supervision and guidance from senior engineering staff you will project manage the delivery of road infrastructure projects. This will be through the administration of contracts and provision of technical expertise and support to the design, construction and maintenance processes. You will ensure the effective coordination of key operational activities and resources associated with project management and process development.

Some of your responsibilities will include:
• Administer road and bridge construction contracts to ensure compliance and successful delivery to Transport & Main Roads specifications.
• Deliver road maintenance and performance contracts, applying principles of asset management, rehabilitation needs and economical engineer outcomes.
• Identify problem areas and negotiate modifications or adaptations to the design briefs where necessary to achieve acceptance.
• Calculate quantities of component materials, analyse test results for materials, identify non-conformances, determine the controls needed during construction and conduct and manage risk assessment.
• Manage under supervision, projects or elements of projects and provide monthly financial forecasting.
• Provide support and advice on the planning and design process, to ensure delivery of project outcomes, value for money and best practice are achieved.
• Determine appropriate road maintenance procedures, work instructions and manage road maintenance tasks.
• Ensure all quality management procedures are adhered to; and
• Maintain effective liaison and communication with internal and external stakeholders.
