The Economic Policy team within the Cabinet Office, is looking for someone who wants to solve problems, build relationships and get things done. This team plays a central role in addressing Queensland’s key economic policy issues including state budget, education and training, infrastructure, tourism, state development, investment, and energy. The team works closely with Queensland Treasury and other Queensland Government economic agencies to progress the government's strategic policy objectives and agenda.

How you'll contribute:
You will play a vital part in contributing to the creation of innovative and strategic policy solutions that will assist in delivering Queensland Government priorities. In this diverse and intellectually stimulating role, you will make your mark by:

  • Preparing timely and well researched briefs on complex issues including Cabinet submissions and legislative reform
  • Building collaborative working relationships with government agencies and key stakeholders
  • Identifying, developing, analysing, and advising on economic policy issues.

What you'll bring to the role:
You will draw on your strong working knowledge of Cabinet processes, understanding of policy and legislative frameworks and ability to communicate at all levels to manage complex issues and provide strategic advice to support the development of longer-term policy directions for government consideration. A relevant tertiary qualification in public policy, economics or a related field would be highly regarded.
