High Risk Offender Management Unit; Community Corrections; Community Corrections & Specialist Operations; Brisbane
The High Risk Offender Management Unit (HROMU) team based in the Brisbane and Townsville regions is responsible for the supervision and management of offenders subject to orders pursuant to the Dangerous Prisoners (Sexual Offenders) Act 2003 (DPSOA) throughout Queensland. It comprises of the following work groups:
• HROMU Strategic Risk and Support, including the Clinical Support Unit;
• HROMU Operations SEQ, operating from the Wacol area and responsible for the management of offenders under the DPSOA across Brisbane and South East Queensland.
• HROMU Central to Far Northern, operating from Townsville and responsible for the management of offenders under the DPSOA across Central, Northern and Far Northern regions.

To be successful in this role, the ideal applicant will be someone who can demonstrate the following experience, knowledge and skills:
• Demonstrated experience as a senior leader with the ability to motivate, coach, mentor and encourage cross-disciplinary teams working in dynamic and complex environments.
• The ability to acquire knowledge of evidence-based offender management frameworks and understanding risks, trends, issues and practices.
• Demonstrated ability to translate the strategic direction of the agency into plans and actions, prioritising financial and operational resources appropriately.
• Demonstrated risk identification and analysis, and the ability to implement mitigation strategies during high-pressure situations to ensure the continuity of service delivery.
• Knowledge, expertise and skill in information management systems, legislation, policies and procedures and the capacity to interpret such policies and provide authoritative advice to management.
• Evidenced experience in the collation and analysis of data, understanding of business systems and processes, and the provision of performance reporting to meet the needs of the region.
• Excellent written and oral communication and interpersonal skills with proven consultation and negotiation experience to resolve high risk, difficult and conflicting objectives.
• Demonstrate experience implementing strategies to enhance the capability of the team, including performance management practices.
Other conditions and requirements
• The incumbent may be required to travel on official business, and the possession of a C class licence is required.
• There may be instances where the incumbent will be required to work hours outside the normal work hours, undertake travel to other locations, or temporarily work from an alternate location.
