The Queensland Revenue Office (QRO) currently has multiple permanent full-time vacancies for an AO6 Senior Investigations Officer - Level 2 to join the Payroll Tax, Mental Health Levy (MHL) & Betting Tax division in Brisbane. Our division is responsible for ensuring the correct amount of tax is paid to the State of Queensland by entities that have Payroll Tax, MHL & Betting Tax obligations.
Working in a collaborative team environment, you will lead a team to achieve results across compliance activities including tax audits and investigations. You will also be involved in identifying risks to revenue and making recommendations for the treatment of those risks.

Our division is responsible for ensuring the correct amount of tax is paid to the State of Queensland by entities that have Payroll Tax, MHL & Betting Tax obligations.
Working in a collaborative team environment, you will lead a team to achieve results across compliance activities including tax audits and investigations. You will also be involved in identifying risks to revenue and making recommendations for the treatment of those risks.
Your typical day as a Senior Investigations Officer - Level 2 may include:
• Leading a professional team to deliver compliance campaigns and exercise delegated powers under tax and revenue legislation in Queensland.
• Providing leadership, coaching, support and feedback to continually develop your team of compliance officers.
• Handling escalations, including using your expertise to interpret legislation and identify compliance risks.
• Planning, reviewing and reporting on the effectiveness of compliance campaigns to senior management.
• Writing reports, analysing data, interpreting legislation and liaising with professional representatives.
To be successful in this role you will need to demonstrate experience in:
• Leading others/managing teams to achieve results
• Audit and/or investigation roles in a financial, tax or similar environment.
• Analysing, interpreting and applying legislation
• Taking ownership of your own development and growth
• Applying your knowledge and skills to solve problems collaboratively.
