The Senior Clinical Educator is responsible for the establishment and maintenance of high-quality standards for clinical training and general continuing education for QAS operational staff. This role is dedicated to 11289Nat Graduate Certificate in Enhanced Assessment and Critical Reasoning (QAS) program.
The role is required to design, develop, coordinate and deliver clinical and continuing education programs to ensure the ongoing professional development of QAS staff enrolled in the Graduate Certificate in Enhanced Assessment and Critical Reasoning QAS) program.

We are seeking applicants who possess the following key attributes:
• Superior level of knowledge and experience in contemporary learning and development principles and practices in a health service or clinical environment
• Experience/familiarity with education design and program elements in relation to 11289NAT Graduate Certificate in Enhanced Assessment and Critical Reasoning (QAS) / 10801Nat Graduate Certificate in Enhanced Assessment and Critical Reasoning (QAS)
• Proven success in developing, coordinating and delivering high quality clinical education programs. A knowledge and understanding or the ability to rapidly acquire knowledge and understanding of registered training organisation compliance requirements and tertiary/vocational education processes
• Demonstrated high level ability in, and commitment to, contemporary ambulance clinical practice in an emergency management system environment
• Proven ability to successfully lead and inspire diverse, professional teams in an environment of competing priorities and needs with limited resources
• Demonstrated highly developed communication, negotiation, consultation and collaboration skills and the proven ability to build and maintain productive relationships with internal and external stakeholders
• Proven highly developed skills in project management, the ability to set priorities, work under pressure, achieve deadlines and successfully manage multiple projects
The following mandatory requirements, special conditions and/or other requirements apply to this role:
• Appointments to this position will require proof of qualification/s and current registration (general registration) under the National Scheme, as determined by the Paramedicine Board of Australia
• Applicants must have a minimum of an Associate Diploma of Applied Science (Ambulance); certification to practice as a Paramedic in Queensland; or equivalent qualifications, as deemed appropriate by the Commissioner QAS
• Applicants must have a minimum of qualification in 11289NAT Graduate Certificate in Enhanced Assessment and Critical Reasoning (QAS) / 10801Nat Graduate Certificate in Enhanced Assessment and Critical Reasoning (Queensland Ambulance Service) or equivalent or be a healthcare professional with a relevant specialist focus
• Applicants must have, or be willing to obtain, a QLD Light Rigid (LR) Driver Licence (for a manual motor vehicle) prior to appointment. Applicants who do not currently hold a manual LR Licence must have a minimum of a QLD ‘C' Class Driver Licence (for a manual motor vehicle) prior to the closing date for applications to be eligible to apply. An automatic Driver Licence or Learner Permit is not acceptable. Interstate and international applicants must hold an equivalent licence and will be expected to obtain a QLD Driver Licence upon appointment
• It is an express condition of employment for all people who are to perform roles with direct patient contact to be, and remain, vaccinated against the following infectious diseases during their employment: Diphtheria, tetanus, pertussis (whooping cough); Hepatitis B; Measles, mumps, rubella (MMR); Varicella (Chickenpox). Please note, there may be additional vaccination requirements depending on individual circumstances as specified in the QAS Infection Control Framework
• Possession of a Certificate IV in Training and Assessment (TAE40110 or TAE40116) or equivalent is regarded as essential. Applicants without this qualification must have the ability to acquire a Certificate IV in Training and Assessment immediately upon appointment
• The incumbent may be required to travel on official business
