As a Senior Program Officer (AO6), you’ll play a key role in shaping Queensland’s waste reform agenda. This is your opportunity to make a real difference by leading the development and implementation of grant funding programs and projects that support waste reduction and recycling initiatives.
We are looking for an experienced Senior Program Officer to lead the design and delivery of funding programs in the Office of Waste Reduction and Recycling. The role will require someone who has experience in designing and implementing grant programs, has exceptional communication skills, and can demonstrate the ability to manage various projects, especially in a high paced and changing work environment.

As a Senior Program Officer (AO6), you'll play a key role in shaping Queensland's waste reform agenda. This is your opportunity to make a real difference by leading the development and implementation of grant funding programs and projects that support waste reduction and recycling initiatives.

Your contribution
• You will work as part of the Program Design and Delivery unit to lead the design and delivery of certain programs and projects relating to waste reduction and resource recovery grant funding programs within the Office of Waste Reduction and Recycling's portfolio of work.
• Your work will include building effective working relationships with internal and external stakeholders, preparing complex and sensitive documents, such as program guidelines and funding agreements, and supporting the delivery of department's waste reform agenda.
• You will create and design funding programs to achieve set objectives, run procurement processes and manage the implementation of programs and projects ensuring the outcomes are delivered on time.
• You will conduct research and analysis to inform program development and evaluate outcomes, and collaborate with stakeholders across government, industry, and community groups to drive impactful initiatives.

About you
We're seeking a motivated individual with:
• Demonstrated high-level experience in designing, developing, implementing and monitoring an environmental program or project.
• A demonstrated high standard in managing multiple projects and delivering outcomes that relate to contracts and formal agreements.
• Experience in analytical problem-solving, which is applied to complex problems, especially for a fast-paced and changing work environment.
• Well-developed communication and negotiation skills for complex and sensitive materials. including experience in producing program guidelines, program assessment documentation, and Ministerial and departmental briefings.
• Knowledge of waste reduction and recycling issues or the ability to quickly acquire this knowledge.
