The Office of Liquor and Gaming Regulation is the regulator for the four Casinos in Queensland. We are seeking multiple temporary Senior Compliance Officers to support regulation of the Gold Coast Casino. We are committed to preventing and minimising gambling related harm.
Based on site at the Casino Inspectorate located in Brisbane CBD, you will contribute to minimising gambling harm to vulnerable Queenslanders through a variety of tasks including Inspections and investigations into breaches of the Casino Control Act 1982 and other legislation.
Your new role will cover a variety of shifts commencing at 6am through to 4am including weekends and public holidays (These hours are subject to change with provision to move to 24/7 operations). You will receive shift workers compensation in accordance with the Appendix 9 of the State Government Entities Certified Agreement.

Are you interested in a Senior Compliance Officer role based on site at the Casino Inspectorate located at The Star Gold Coast. Your new role will cover a variety of shifts commencing at 7am through to 4am including weekends and public holidays. You will receive shift workers compensation in accordance with the Appendix 9 of the State Government Entities Certified Agreement 2023.
Your key responsibilities
- Participate in a broad range of liquor and gambling compliance interventions, including audits, inspections, risk assessments and compliance monitoring activities.
- Undertake compliance and licensing related investigations into complaints, and suspected breaches of legislation including the recommendation to more senior officers to initiate high end enforcement action
- Research, analyse and interpret legislation, and apply relevant policies, procedures and guidelines to achieve positive compliance outcomes.
- Prepare written correspondence including advice and warning letters and investigation reports for review.
- Drafting of documents required for legal proceedings.
- Attend court and give evidence as a witness in legal proceedings
- Assist in the training and development of less experienced staff. Provide feedback to the Principal Compliance Officer regarding development requirements.
- Assist in the development, implementation and monitoring of harm minimisation strategies within the liquor and gambling industries.
- Engage with industry stakeholders, community groups and other relevant parties to provide guidance and education on liquor and gambling legislation.
- Carry out any other reasonable duties as directed by supervisory and management staff, ensuring adherence to professional standards and organisational objectives.
There are two AO5 vacancies, one is until 11 April (2027) with possibility of extension and the second is to 30 June (2026) with possibility of extension.
