The Finance Officer role provides high quality management accounting services and support for QAS, ensuring accurate, timely and relevant financial reporting services are delivered to stakeholders and clients across the organisation and externally.
The role supports the Management Accounting team in the preparation of the QAS budgets, forecasts and reports, and delivery of effective financial management services to influence decisions, drive financial performance and improvement, and support the achievement of strategic business outcomes for the QAS.

We are seeking applicants who, within the context of the role responsibilities, possess the following key attributes:
- Demonstrated experience in delivering high quality management accounting services within a complex accrual accounting environment, utilising financial systems and various software applications including SAP ECC6 and Microsoft Excel.
- Demonstrated skills in analysis, business reporting and evaluating the financial impact of issues on the organisation's business, in line with organisational priorities.
- Well-developed oral and written communication skills, including the ability to communicate clearly and confidentially with a range of stakeholders through various mediums and the ability to prepare accurate financial documentation.
- Demonstrated developed interpersonal skills including facilitation, consultation, negotiation and listening skills and the proven ability to maintain productive working relationships.
- Demonstrated commitment to the provision of excellent customer service and continuous quality improvement.
- Proven ability to interpret and adhere to relevant legislation, concepts and departmental policies and procedures.
- Proven ability to work autonomously and adaptively within a team environment and efficiently prioritise tasks, manage workflows and achieve desired outcomes within allocated timeframes and resources.
Mandatory/Special conditions/Other requirements
The following mandatory requirements, special conditions and/or other requirements apply to this role:
- Whilst not mandatory, an experienced accountant with tertiary qualifications in accounting, commerce or business and membership or eligibility for membership to a professional accounting body will be highly regarded.
