Queensland Treasury is seeking a dynamic and experienced professional to join the Industry Strategy and Climate Group. This is a unique opportunity to lead significant projects and policy initiatives that shape Queensland's industry development, emissions reduction, and climate adaptation strategies. As part of a central agency, you will play a pivotal role in delivering expert advice and services that align with the Government's economic recovery priorities and long-term economic strategy. This role offers the chance to work at the forefront of policy development, collaborating with diverse stakeholders and driving meaningful change for Queensland's economy and environment.

In this role, you will:
• Lead, plan, and manage significant projects and policy development with a focus on industry strategy, emissions reductions, and sector plans.
• Manage complex workloads, ensuring deadlines and commitments are met within tight timeframes both independently and as part of a team.
• Represent and speak authoritatively on behalf of the department in various forums.
• Collaborate, consult, and negotiate with a broad range of stakeholders, including state and Australian government agencies, industry, and community conservation groups.
• Provide effective, consistent, and timely performance metrics and reporting to support strategic decision-making.
• Oversee and prepare high-quality papers and correspondence for Cabinet, the Treasurer, Under Treasurer, and other key stakeholders on complex industry, climate, and sustainability issues.
• Offer expert strategic advice and support to senior government staff on significant projects and strategic policy and planning matters.
• Foster a workplace culture of equity, diversity, respect, and inclusion, while managing the performance and conduct of your team.

What experience you will bring:
• Demonstrated ability to lead and manage significant projects and policy development in areas such as industry strategy, emissions reduction, and climate adaptation.
• Strong organisational skills to manage complex workloads and meet tight deadlines.
• Proven ability to represent an organisation and provide authoritative advice in high-level forums.
• Exceptional communication, collaboration, and negotiation skills to work effectively with diverse stakeholders.
• Experience in delivering performance metrics and reporting to inform strategic decision-making.
• Expertise in preparing high-quality papers and correspondence on complex policy issues.
• A commitment to fostering a workplace culture of equity, diversity, respect, and inclusion.

Whilst there are no mandatory qualifications needed for this role, relevant qualifications will be highly regarded.
