As Queensland courts undergo significant digital transformation they are implementing ICT projects aligned with the DoJ ICT Strategy 2021-2026. These projects aim to streamline workflows, optimise resources, enhance client experiences, and transition to a digitised, paper-lite system.

A Senior Software Developer role involves creating, maintaining, and improving software solutions using Microsoft Dynamics and Azure, collaborating with stakeholders, managing source code, developing technical documentation, and reducing technical debt, contributing to the future of justice services.

As part of the Development team the role of the Senior Software Developer will be to work closely with the operational subject matters experts and business analysts to determine functional and non-functional requirements that will enhance new and existing software solutions to meet current and emerging business requirements.

You will be responsible for the development of software applications and associated solutions and a key participant in the delivery and deployment of the final product. You are required to work in partnership with internal and external stakeholders to ensure the final products integrate and function as expected with interfacing applications.

• Develop and extend Microsoft Dynamics based enterprise applications.
• Develop and maintain solutions within an Azure environment.
• Ensure solutions are developed and maintained in accordance with relevant standards and frameworks.
• Management of source code and iterative development of applications.
• Collaborate with internal and external teams to produce application design and architecture artifacts.
• Develop and maintain technical specifications and as built documentation for supported applications and solutions.
• Translate and interpret system requirements in the form of functional specifications and/or user stories into technical specifications.
• Identifying areas of opportunity to reduce technical debt and support the improvement of new and existing applications and solutions.
• Serve as an expert on supported and new applications, providing support, guidance and mentoring to other team members where appropriate.
