We are looking for an experienced Principal Adviser to join our Education and Prevention team at Queensland Corrective Services. In this pivotal role, you'll offer specialist advice to managers and frontline staff on workplace ethics and dilemmas, develop and deliver preventative education material, and reinforce integrity across the agency. You'll report directly to the Manager Education and Prevention and serve as a mentor to the Senior Adviser within the team.
Key Responsibilities:
• Design and implement evidence-based QCS-specific education programs that address corruption risks and raise integrity awareness at an agency level.
• Promote a culture of continuous improvement, ethics and inclusion by supporting leaders and staff to embed the Queensland Public Sector's Code of Conduct in daily operations.
• Review operational guidance to ensure client-focussed, high-quality service delivery.
• Provide specialist advice on referrals to Ethical Standards, in line with law, policy and procedures.
• Support operational work units with Local Management Action, based on Positive Performance Management principles.
• Work collaboratively across the division, championing trauma-informed and human-centred practices.
• Develop and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
• Foster a workplace culture of collaboration, evidence-based decision making, innovation and accountability.
About You:
• You have demonstrated experience in developing, delivering and evaluating education programs.
• You can provide expert advice on complex ethical issues and employee conduct, guided by legislation and policy.
• You possess strong written and verbal communication skills, capable of preparing sensitive reports and presenting educational content.
• You are skilled at building rapport and negotiating with stakeholders, even when interests differ.
• You excel at leading, mentoring and supporting team members, while constructively challenging the status quo.
Qualifications & Requirements:
• No mandatory qualifications, but tertiary qualifications in public policy, ethics, management, investigations or training are highly regarded.
• Willingness to work flexible hours, travel and work temporarily from alternate locations as required.
