In this role, you'll play a key role in driving the protection of one of our most wonderful places.
This Senior Ranger position is responsible for strategic level management of Bribie Island Recreation Area, Pumicestone Passage section of Moreton Bay Marine Park,
South Stradbroke Island Conservation Park and Southern Bay Islands National Park.
Bribie Island is visited by many day visitors and campers; compliance and enforcement is a significant component of the work unit's duties. With a large population interface the position also works closely with external agencies in the mitigation and response to bushfire and other incidents.
The position leads a team of 12 staff including 9 staff located on Bribie Island. The position requires an understanding of engaging with the First Nations Peoples and their interests relating to the protected area and should be able to demonstrate a well-developed understanding of working in cultural landscapes.
This is not an entry level position. Demonstrated experience in natural resource/land management is essential to progressing to the next stage of assessment.
