The Region is looking for an innovative Senior Environmental Officer who will provide high level guidance and environmental expertise to enable the Region to meet the Department's and the Governments environmental management commitments. You will be expected to have a thorough understanding of requirements of relevant legislation and associated regulations and policies, as well as project manage transport related environmental impacts and opportunities.

To be considered for the role of Senior Environmental Officer you will possess:
• Demonstrated experience and knowledge of requirements of relevant legislation and associated regulations and policies in relation to environmental management.
• Demonstrated experience in providing specialist advice on the scope and direction of project activities with regards to environmental impacts and opportunities.
• Possession of a degree in Environmental Science, Environmental Engineering, Environmental Management or Natural Resource Management from a recognised tertiary institution (or equivalent qualification) is a mandatory requirement of this role.
• Possession of a Class C driver's licence is a mandatory requirement of this role.
