As the Manager, Finance & Business, you will:
• Lead and drive the finance and business management functions to enhance decision-making and business outcomes, including financial management and reporting, procurement and contract management, asset management (fleet, facilities, and property and equipment) and associated business functions.
• Coordinate and deliver a demanding work program and significant business improvement initiatives within agreed financial and time parameters, including:
- Ensure the financial plans, budgets, forecasts, reports and advice developed and provided to leaders are accurate, timely and consistent.
- Develop clear and comprehensive submissions and recommendations based on in-depth analysis of complex financial issues and data.
- Oversee a best-practice procurement and contract management program of work that delivers value for the business areas and wider department.
• Develop and manage the frameworks, processes and tools to support financial and business management functions, with a sustained focus on continuous improvement, skills assessment and uplift, innovation and leveraging emerging technologies (for example, RPA), and achieving consistency across the division.
• Provide leadership and trusted advice to regional Finance and Business Management advisors, build strong relationships with frontline leaders, and coach your direct reports to do the same.
• Undertake formal and informal coaching and performance management so team members can develop to their full potential and to ensure finance and business management capacity and capability to meet current and future needs.
• Maintain appropriate governance frameworks across finance and business management to monitor compliance with policy, legislation, regulations, standards and procedures.
• Contribute to and influence the development of corporate financial policy, strategy and initiatives, advocating for the needs of the division as appropriate.
• Provide proactive, authoritative, evidence-based and strategic advice to the leaders and managers on finance and business management issues.
• Develop, negotiate and maintain relationships and partnerships with central finance functions and other key internal and external stakeholders.
What are we looking for?
• Relevant tertiary qualification such as Commerce, Accounting or Business.
• An accredited certification (CA or CPA) is highly desirable.
• Extensive experience in a financial, procurement, project management, business operations, risk, compliance or similar role is highly desirable
