The Games Governance Secretariat will play a pivotal role in the effective and efficient operation of the Games governance structure, ensuring key governance groups and committees have the support they need to oversee the delivery of a successful Games in 2032. Amongst other governance groups internal to Queensland Government, key governance groups this role will support include the Games Leadership Group which consists of Ministers and Board Chairs/Presidents across key games delivery partners, and the Games Executive Group which consists of Chief Executives from the same organisation.

In this role you will:

  • Provide secretariat support to key Games Governance groups and committees, working closely with the Deputy Director-General OPGO and Executive Director, Policy and Operations to manage relevant processes, agendas and briefing materials.
  • Coordinate meetings, development and quality assurance of Games governance group/committee papers and briefing materials, slide creation, annotation of agendas, recording of minutes, oversight of resulting actions and decisions, record keeping and document management.
  • Support OPGO employees in the preparation of briefing materials.
  • Develop and maintain policies and governance procedures in relation to the Games governance structure, in collaboration with other areas of OPGO.
  • Coordinate, prepare and distribute agenda papers and briefing materials to relevant Games governance groups in an agreed timely manner, including annotated agendas and speaking points.
  • Coordinate and maintain the Declaration of Interests Registers and manage the incoming correspondence for the OPGO Secretariat mailbox.
  • Communicate and coordinate actions and decisions of Games governance group and committee meetings, including record keeping, minute taking of meetings and ensuring progress against actions is monitored.
  • Create and maintain key stakeholder registers and email distributions lists related to secretariat functions.
  • Contribute to a workplace culture based on values and behaviours, ensuring a positive work environment that is safe, healthy, diverse, respectful and inclusive.
