Treasury Analyst

As a Treasury Analyst in Queensland Treasury's Social Policy & Analytics division, you will contribute to high quality analysis that supports strong fiscal management and effective public policy across government. Working as part of a collaborative team, you will monitor and assess the financial and non financial performance of Queensland Government agencies and help inform budget, policy and investment decisions. You will partner closely with internal and external stakeholders to resolve
financial and policy issues, prepare clear and concise advice for senior executives, and support whole of government priorities.

Your opportunity
Queensland Treasury's Social Policy & Analytics division plays a central role in supporting fiscally responsible decision making across government. As a Treasury Analyst, you will work within a supportive, high performing team to analyse financial and performance information, contribute to policy development and provide practical advice to agencies and senior leaders. ln this role, you will:
- Research, analyse and evaluate a broad range of budget, financial management and related policy issues.
- Provide clear, timely advice, information and support to agency clients, the Executive Director and senior executives.
- Monitor, assess and interpret agencies' financial, budget and performance information and data.
- Support the preparation of regular financial performance reports and coordinate budget processes and financial reporting requirements for allocated agencies.
- Prepare high quality submissions, briefing notes, presentations, correspondence and other documents on budget, financial and policy matters.
- Translate technical financial or policy information into clear, practical insights for a range of audiences.
- Build and maintain positive, professional working relationships with internal and external clients and stakeholders.
- Support organisational priorities, strategy and continuous improvement initiatives.
What experience you will bring
Analytical capability: Experience analysing financial and non financial performance information and data.
Strong research and analytical skills, with the ability to work across complex issues.
Communication and engagement: Ability to communicate technical financial and/or policy concepts clearly to diverse stakeholders and well developed written, verbal and interpersonal skills.
Ways of working: Proven ability to work independently and as part of a team on complex, time sensitive tasks by taking a proactive, collaborative approach.
