Clinical Team Leader

The Clinical Team Leader is a key operational role within the QAS, reporting directly to the Executive Manager. The role is responsible for leading and managing the staff and resources of the Clinical Hub on a shift basis, ensuring that the service meets QAS standards and key performance indicators.

The Clinical Team Leader is responsible for on shift supervision, leadership and mentoring of a diverse range of clinicians within the Clinical Hub.

The position also plays a pivotal role in the establishment and maintenance of effective relationships within the QAS, Queensland Health, and with other relevant stakeholders.

We are seeking applicants who, within the context of the role responsibilities, possess the following key attributes:

• Proven high level ability to successfully lead, coach and inspire diverse, professional teams in an environment of competing priorities and needs with finite resources.
• Demonstrated high level knowledge and detailed understanding of ambulance and health service delivery and the issues impacting on the health care system statewide.
• Demonstrated ability to utilise multiple and complex information and communication technology (ICT) systems, including the ability to navigate through multiple clinical and clerical systems simultaneously.
• Demonstrated high level conceptual, analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to interpret operational performance data and make a significant contribution to real time service delivery, as well as the review and implementation of work practices to drive performance improvement.
• Proven highly developed ability to effectively communicate, negotiate, consult and collaborate to build and maintain productive relationships with a variety of internal and external stakeholders and to positively advocate and achieve desired outcomes for the QAS.
• Demonstrated commitment to implement practices which promote a fair and ethical workplace, employment equity, cultural diversity and occupational health and safety.

Mandatory/Special conditions/Other requirements

The following mandatory requirements, special conditions and/or other requirements apply to this role:

• Appointments to this position will require proof of qualification/s and current registration under the National Scheme, as determined by the Paramedicine Board of Australia.
• Applicants must have a minimum of an undergraduate degree in Paramedicine or Health Science (Paramedic); or an Associate Diploma of Applied Science (Ambulance); or equivalent qualifications as determined by the Commissioner, QAS.
• Applicants are required to hold an open Queensland “C” Class Driver's Licence (for a manual motor car).
• It is an express condition of employment for all people who are to perform roles with direct patient contact to be, and remain, vaccinated against the following infectious diseases during their employment: Diphtheria; Tetanus; Pertussis (Whooping Cough); Hepatitis B; Measles, Mumps, Rubella (MMR); Varicella (Chickenpox); Influenza. Please note, there may be additional vaccination requirements depending on individual circumstances as specified in the QAS Infection Control Framework.
• Position will require participation in shift work (including weekends and public holidays),and may be required for on-call duties and to undertake overtime.
