Principal Project Officer, Venues Program
Games Infrastructure (Venues and Villages); Infrastructure; Brisbane City
Join the Games Infrastructure (Venues and Villages) division as a Principal Project Officer, Venues Program and help deliver the Brisbane 2032 Olympic and Paralympic Games. Using your strengths in critical analysis, sound judgement, governance and stakeholder engagement, you will lead assurance activities, review complex project documentation and provide high quality advice on major venue projects.
Working closely with delivery partners across government and industry, you’ll support risk management, monitor milestones, contribute to legacy outcomes and ensure projects align with State Government requirements and expectations.

Your Opportunity
Working as a senior member of the Venues Program team, you will collaborate closely with the Games Independent Infrastructure Coordination Authority (GIICA), Brisbane 2032 Organising Committee, the Australian Government and other delivery partners. Acting on behalf of the Queensland Government, you'll help oversee planning, design, procurement and delivery of venue infrastructure, providing assurance and high quality advice to ensure projects meet government expectations, manage risk effectively, and achieve long term legacy outcomes.

Your Responsibilities
In this role, you will:
• Work collaboratively with the Venues Program team to coordinate advice on Government requirements for Games venue infrastructure, including scope changes and milestone achievement.
• Lead and contribute to assurance activities by reviewing investment proposals, project management documentation, risk assessments and delivery artefacts.
• Support development and implementation of State Government requirements to achieve legacy outcomes and mitigate risk through clear definition and documentation.
• Coordinate across government and delivery partners to support alignment of governance, stakeholder engagement and project outcomes.
• Prepare and contribute to high quality briefings, reports, submissions and correspondence for Government, tailored to the target audience.
• Build and maintain effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders across all levels of government, industry and peak bodies.
• Represent the division at departmental, interdepartmental and interagency meetings and forums as required.
