As a Senior Ranger (Compliance), you will lead and coordinate compliance and enforcement activities across the Northern Region. This includes planning and delivering a regional compliance program, coordinating investigations into breaches of environmental legislation, preparing briefs of evidence, and presenting information in court when required. You will work closely with partner agencies and stakeholders to share intelligence, build strong working relationships and support effective enforcement outcomes.
The role also involves maintaining accurate records of compliance activities, preparing regular reports, and providing clear advice to senior leaders, including executive management. You will support and train rangers and partner organisations in compliance obligations, investigation techniques and enforcement practices, helping to build capability across the region.
In addition to compliance work, you will lead and manage a small, geographically dispersed team by setting priorities, allocating resources and supporting staff development. You might be involved in emergency response and recovery operations, including natural disasters, and may take part in specialised compliance activities such as aerial and regional operations.
Senior Rangers work across a range of focus areas depending on operational needs, including visitor management, pest and fire management, estate management, and safety. You will also contribute to planning, budgeting and reporting, oversee infrastructure and asset projects, and prepare high-level correspondence and briefings. A strong commitment to safety and respectful engagement is central to this role.
Applications to remain current for 12 months.
