The Connectivity Services team in CITEC Integration and Enabling Technologies, part of the Department of Customer Services, Open Data and Small and Family Business, provides and manages critical network solutions for the Queensland Government. These include the Queensland Government Regional Network (QGRN), Queensland Government Network (QGN), Queensland Ambulance Dispatch Network (ADN), Whole-of-Government ISP, SD-WAN, Cloud Connect, Data Centre Networks, and the CITEC Network Operations Centre (NOC). Connectivity Services delivers managed network services, web application firewall (WAF) protection, inter-department connectivity, operational support, project delivery, design, and consultancy services. Operating 24/7 with automated tools and on-call support, the team ensures secure, reliable, and scalable connectivity to nenable efficient government operations and digital services. As a Network Officer, you will play a key role in supporting CITEC ICT and its customers by performing network fault finding, implementing network changes, and undertaking planning and documentation activities. You will also specialise in resolving network issues, managing third-party vendors and carriers, performing moves, adds, and changes for existing services, and mentoring members of the Network Operations Centre.

Your responsibilities include:
Providing first and second-level operational support for networks and associated services, including:
Conducting initial incident investigations and troubleshooting.
Performing problem analysis to identify and resolve service outages.
Managing inbound and outbound communications with clients through various channels.
Maintaining and supporting equipment within wide and local area network infrastructure, including data centre network environments and CITEC-managed Queensland Government Regional Network (QGRN) and Queensland Government
Network (QGN) for both client and CITEC networks. Executing network change requests under appropriate supervision and escalating tasks to senior connectivity staff or other CITEC teams as required.
Actioning client requests for bandwidth upgrades, including coordinating with carriers, on-site teams, and CITEC Connectivity Operations technical resources to schedule and implement upgrades.
Preparing and distributing network service outage reports and notifications. Ensuring adherence to IT Infrastructure Library (ITIL) standards, procedures, and documentation requirements.
Performing on-call duties and out-of-hours work as required to meet CITEC's business commitments. Working at client sites as needed to support operational requirements.
