The Manager, Intensive Case Management (ICM), is responsible for leading the statewide ICM team and leading other case management and core program service delivery functions to support Youth Justice Service Centres and Youth Detention Centre’s.
The Manager will oversee the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of case management practices across the full continuum of Youth Justice service settings, by providing targeted advice and support, so youth justice responses are evidence-based, inclusive, and grounded in the principles of Risk, Needs, Responsivity.

As the Manager, you will specifically:
- Demonstrate cultural capability and/or a commitment to developing cultural capability to ensure an inclusive culture that aligns with the Human Rights Act 2019 and supports departmental programs and community partnerships aimed at preserving cultural connections for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples.
- Coordinate and manage ICM, case management and core program practice statewide, ensuring support to Youth Justice Service Centres and detention centres to respond to complex case management scenarios and developing systems and resources to ensure high quality youth justice service delivery.
- Coordinate the provision of authoritative, professional and timely advice to the Director and key stakeholders on issues pertaining to responses for young people in youth justice including community organisations and individuals in relation to core programs and case management.
- Lead effective stakeholder engagement on behalf of the Director with a wide range of organisations, agencies, stakeholders and offices.
- Coordinate and maintain policies and procedures, submissions, documentation, proposals and initiatives and contribute a strong practice perspective to responses.
- Manage projects of a complex, sensitive and contentious nature as assigned by the Director including leading the consistent delivery of new youth justice practice responses and services.
- Coordinate and/or conduct research into youth justice service centre and youth detention centre matters and other practices relating to young people within the community affecting the policy and operations of the department, including the analysis of findings and the recommendations of appropriate courses of action.
- Manage the team including work planning, professional supervision and financial and human resource responsibilities.
- Active participation in and contribution to the governance and strategic objectives of Youth Justice and the department.
