Queensland Government Air (QGAir) forms part of the Queensland Police Service (QPS), Aviation Capability Group (ACG) and provides government aviation services specialising in both rotary and fixed wing operations in support of the QPS and our partner agencies in regular and emergency response operations across Queensland. The Role:
We are seeking an experienced Training and Checking Pilot looking for their next challenge to support our Rotary Wing operations and contribute to making a real difference in the community. Our Rotary Wing team has a fleet of five aircraft and operates three bases in Archerfield, Cairns and Townsville. Our team of highly trained personnel provides aeromedical retrievals, search and rescue and law enforcement support. You will facilitate and conduct high quality training and checking to support QPS aviation operations.
Applications for this permanent role are being accepted from individuals interested in being based in Archerfield, Cairns or Townsville. The final location - Archerfield, Cairns or Townsville will be determined through negotiation with the successful candidate.

What we're looking for:
Mandatory Requirements:
- Hold a current Australian Air Transport Pilots Licence (ATPL)
- Flight Instructor Rating (FIR) - Multi Engine or previous Military Equivalent
- Low Level Rating
- Night Vision Imaging System (NVIS) Rating
- Multi Engine Command Instrument Rating - 5 Renewals
- Minimum 2500 hours total time
- Minimum 1500 hours Pilot in Command (PIC) Helicopter
- Minimum 500 hours Night PIC Helicopter
- Minimum 1000 hours Multi-Engine PIC Helicopter
- Minimum 1200 hours Turbine Helicopter
- Minimum 100 hours NVIS Operations
- Hold or be eligible to hold an Aviation Security Identification Card (ASIC)
- Valid Class 1 Aviation Medical
Highly Desirable Requirements:
- Flight Examiner Rating (FER)
- AW139 Type Rating
- Hold a current and valid passport to enable international travel if required.
