Senior Clinical Educator

The Senior Clinical Educator is responsible for the establishment and maintenance of high-quality clinical education standards of the Clinical Hub Clinicians. The role is required to undertake the design, coordination and delivery of education programs to ensure appropriate induction into the Clinical Hub and the ongoing professional development of operational staff. The role is also required to undertake clinical and quality assurance activities and investigations to ensure the educational and clinical governance objectives of the QAS are met. The Senior Clinical Educator actively contributes to the achievement of QAS business objectives and key performance indicators determined by the Commissioner.

We are seeking applicants who, within the context of the role responsibilities, possess the following key attributes: 

  • Demonstrated high level of knowledge in designing, coordinating and delivering quality and appropriate clinical education in a clinical environment, including an understanding of registered training organisation compliance and tertiary/vocational education requirements. 
  • Proven ability to successfully lead and inspire diverse, professional teams in an environment of competing priorities and needs with finite resources. 
  • Demonstrated high level of communication, negotiation, consultation, and collaboration skills and the proven ability to build and maintain productive relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Proven highly developed skills in project management, including the ability to set priorities, work under pressure, achieve deadlines and successfully manage multiple projects.  
  • Demonstrated conceptual, analytical and problem-solving skills to contribute towards strategic planning and the provision of policy advice, in particular, the development, implementation and review of operational plans, policies, standards, local work practices and service improvement initiatives. 
  • Demonstrated commitment to implement practices which promote a fair and ethical workplace, employment equity, cultural diversity and occupational health and safety.

The following mandatory requirements, special conditions and/or other requirements apply to this role: 

  • Appointments to this position will require proof of qualification/s and current registration under the National Scheme, as determined by the Paramedicine Board of Australia.  
  • Applicants are required to hold an open Queensland “C” Class Driver's Licence (for a manual motor car). 
  • Possession of a Certificate IV in Training and Assessment (TAE40122) or equivalent is regarded as highly desirable. Applicants without this qualification must have the ability to acquire a Certificate IV in Training and Assessment immediately upon appointment. 
  • Postgraduate qualifications in adult and/or clinical education will be highly regarded. 
  • It is an express condition of employment for all people who are to perform roles with direct patient contact to be, and remain, vaccinated against the following infectious diseases during their employment: Diphtheria; Tetanus; Pertussis (Whooping Cough); Hepatitis B; Measles, Mumps, Rubella (MMR); Varicella (Chickenpox); Influenza. Please note, there may be additional vaccination requirements depending on individual circumstances as specified in the QAS Infection Control Framework. 
  • Position may require participation in shift work (including weekends and public holidays), on-call duties and undertake overtime.
