Our Principal Contract Officer will:
• supporting Forestry staff by providing advice and assistance on operational matters by reviewing sales permits, deeds of variation and associated templates, assisting with compliance issues (including unauthorised operations) and reviewing and seeking legal advice on such matters where required.
• participating in relevant working groups, committees and boards and act as a representative to ensure DPI Forestry's interests are considered and protected.
• providing advice and respond to other agencies in relation to the impact of proposals or applications on the State's interest in forest products and quarry material, such as proposed tenure changes, legislative amendments, renewable energy proposals, planning schemes, mining interests etc.
• assisting with the negotiation process for large-scale forest product or quarry material sales, undertaking general value reviews and the review and enhancement of existing value setting and value adjustment methodologies to ensure maintenance of market-based prices for forest products and quarry material.
• preparing briefing notes and correspondence relating to the matters above.
• performing other duties as requested by the Forestry Executive Team.
